Yorkshire Terrier Plush Toys
The Yorkshire Terrier was developed in the English county of Yorkshire, where the miners who worked there hoped to find a breed of dog that would control the rats that infested the mine shafts. Various breeds were used to end up with the Yorkie. They included the Skye terrier, the black-and-tan toy terrier, the Dandie Dinmont and the Maltese.
This lively courageous little dog is affectionate with its master and suspicious of strangers. It is only 9 inches high and weighs about 8 pounds. It makes an excellent companion dog and will notify its owner of any unwanted intrusions.
They do not do well in very cold weather and need to have extra woolen jackets to wear when taken out.
