Weimaraner Plush Toys

The Weimaraner is a medium to large sporting dog. It has a short grey coat, short docked tail, and amber eyes. It has a strong, dignified air and appearance. Males generally weigh up to 85 pounds and females to 65 pounds. The breed was developed in Germany around 1800. It was used as a hunting dog and companion and was brought to the U.S. in the 1940's.

Weimaraners make wonderful weimaraner_dogcompanions. They are very active dogs, loyal to their family and are very intelligent. They are friendly, smart, fearless and alert. They can also be manipulative, stubborn, bold, mischievous, bossy, demanding and strong willed. They are very devoted to their family.

Weimaraners should not be continually housed in a kennel, the backyard or the basement. They must be treated as a family member. While they are not considered a guard dog, they will protect their property and family and will warn you of approaching strangers.

Weimaraners need lots of exercise. A once-a-day leash walk is not enough. A large fenced yard is a must .

Most Weimaraners will get along with other dogs. Depending on the individual dog's personality, they may or may not get along with other pets such as cats, birds and other types of small pets.

An occasional bath (usually no more than once a month), brushing, trimming of nails and ear cleaning is pretty much all the grooming that is needed.
