Where can you find Rottweiler plush toys and stuffed animals?
The Forest Cottage is all about all kinds of animals, including the Rottweiler breed of dog. Our sponsor, Jeannie's Cottage, carries a large selection of giftware, including gifts for the Rottweiler owner. Here are some handsome Rottweiler stuffed animals: the Bearington Rottweiler at left and the smaller version at right are very soft, and the little resin Rottweiler figurine is a Garden Stone made to use in your outdoor garden. Rocky the Rottweiler is shown in the back at left and is from Douglas. The Rottweiler plush dog at center is from Demdaco. Many of these items can be found in the Jeannie's Cottage Gift Shop.
Descended from the Italian mastiff, the Rottweiler was used as a herd dog during the Middle Ages. Bred in the German town of Rottweil, the breed almost became extinct but its popularity revived early in the 20th century.
The powerfully built body is about 25 inches long and around 100 pounds. Always black with brown markings on the cheeks, muzzle, paws and legs, this attractive breed is a very good watch dog and is also used in police work. It is also a good companion dog and is good with children.
